Polly and Matt's Wedding -3013.jpg

What style of photography do you shoot?

My style – I’m all about capturing the authentic natural moments and emotions of the day. I observe what’s happening and try to capture those golden moments; the glisten in a mothers eye as she begins to tear or the child sneaking the extra cake thinking that no one was watching.

Candid, relaxed and unposed, just capturing the fun unfolding all around me.

Do we meet you before the wedding to talk about our plans?

I’d love to! Why the heck not, let’s get to know each other before your big day. Grab a coffee, have an engagement shoot or just a chat over Facetime, Zoom (or some other video call facility – I’m sure we are all well practiced using them now!)

Are you a full-time professional photographer?

Not at the moment, but that is the dream! For now I’m a solicitor by day (or at least weekdays, between 9-5), and a photographer every other second of every day!! I’m never happier than when I’ve got my camera in my hand and capturing real moments between family and friends.

How long do you stay on the day?

As long as possible! I like to party with the rest of your guest and can’t resist a bouncing dance floor.

I will work with you every step of the way, so let me know how much of the day you want covered and I will be there. I love capturing the anticipation and infectious happiness of getting ready, all the way through to the ties round heads and the infamous moves on the dancefloor.

What areas do you cover?

I’m based in Cheshire but I don’t let location stop me, I’m happy to cover all over the UK and further afield. Please get in touch if you want me to cover your overseas destination wedding.

Do you charge for travel costs?

If your wedding is in and around Cheshire and Greater Manchester then no. If your wedding is a bit further a field there will be some travel costs.

Do you require a meal on the day?

No, I’m self sufficient, that being said I wouldn’t turn down a fancy meal but please don’t feel obliged to feed me.

What do you wear on the day?

I like to fit in with your wedding day, so just like the rest of your guests I dress to impress! That being said you won’t catch me in any killer heels (flat shoes are crucial).

Do you take any formal or group photos?

While I love the relaxed informal shots I’m more than happy to take some more formal shots (the ones that mum’s and aunties expect you to have), but in the main I will just capture the day as it unfolds. If you do want a few formal images I would suggest no more than 10 - less is more I always say.

You don’t need to worry about the ‘Bride and Groom’ shots, we will definitely get some of them!

How many photos do you take on the day?

There’s no limit to the amount of photos that I take on a wedding day. I just keep shooting. I typically produce 600 - 700 fully edited, completely different shots from a full day's coverage to look back on.

Who will take our photographs?

Me. I’m the only photographer here, “Photogra-Fi” as my hubby calls me.

What do we do if it rains?

Carry on of course! The grass may be soggy, the clouds slightly grey but don’t worry it won’t dampen anyone’s spirits. What’s that saying… “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!” and no one can say a wedding dress is bad clothing. Wedding dresses look great in all kinds of light, so don them wellies, grab a brolly and let’s go!

I usually say a 10 minute break in the rain and a spirited attitude is all you need!

Help! I don't like my photo being taken!

You are not alone! My style is all about taking natural, relaxed photos. None of the stand here ‘say cheese’ malarkey. I usually find that the best images are the one of you guys in amongst it, having the day of your lives and I don’t want to take you away from that for long.

When it comes to getting those couple shots I keep it brief and relaxed, typically I’d take you for a wander around your venue, it will give us a chance to get a few snaps. If you’re anything like me and my hubby on our wedding day, it will also give you guys a chance to actually say “hi” to one another, amongst the whirlwind of hugs and congratulations that you will no doubt be swept up in.

If you are concerned about the awkwardness of ‘being in the spotlight’, then we can always have a pre-wedding shoot (engagement shoot). As I’ve mentioned it’s all about the relaxed natural shots and for me shooting couples is no different; a pre-wedding shoot gives us a chance to have a chat as well as to make some images that you will treasure.

When can I see my photographs?

Your fully edited imagery will be ready 4 weeks after your wedding. They will be available to view via your own, password-protected online wedding gallery. You will also be sent a complete set on your very own USB.

Can I let other people see my wedding photos?

Absolutely! I encourage you to do so. While your online gallery is password-protected feel free to tell all your friends and family the magic word and look back on your special day. I hope they love all your wedding photos as much as you do.

Can my friends and family purchase any prints?

Of course. I’m currently working on making them available to purchase directly from my website and will be producing high quality prints, ready for that mantelpiece, photo frame or album very soon.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have full public liability insurance which covers pretty much any eventuality. I’ve not had to use this but I have it to give us both peace of mind.

How do we secure our date with you?

If the date is free I will send you my contract to sign and return and once I have that together with the non refundable deposit of £300, the date is yours! The deposit will come off your final balance. The final balance is payable 1 month prior to your wedding date.

If for any reason you paid the full amount and you have to cancel (as long as you cancel 5 days before the day of your wedding) the most that you will lose is £300.

Where can we find out more about your wedding packages?

Please take a look through my blog to see how I approach weddings. Learn a little more about me, my style and philosophy through the 'About Me' page. Check out my transparent pricing policy through my Pricing page, then get in touch using the contact form or give me a bell. We can then arrange a no-obligations meet-up so that I can show you some more of my imagery and you can tell me of your wedding plans. It would be great to hear from you!
